What course is best for me? 
All courses are very individual. Contact me for a free consultation where I will evaluate your language level, fine-tune your learning goals, and create your personal learning plan.

How long does a lesson take?

Whatever suits you – everything is possible from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. I do not recommend longer lessons, because the concentration level is decreasing.

When are the courses?
All my courses are personalized, so are the times: Whenever you feel best to learn.

What is the price for an hour?
My pricing is flexible and tailored to your specific needs. Several options are available, depending on whether you prefer one-on-one or group lessons, and the number of hours you would like to book each week. Contact me for a free, personalized quote.

Is there a trial lesson?
Not really. I offer a free consultation where I evaluate your level and develop an innovative learning plan together with you. There, you can get to know me and my approach and decide whether you would like to learn with me.

How long does a course take?
I offer individual courses, depending on what suits you best: 10-pack, 2-week courses, monthly courses, language level courses, and weekend courses

Are there also intensive courses?
Of course! If you are preparing for an exam or interview, we can arrange a time frame where we will get you in good shape.
In summer, I also offer crash courses.

How many hours per week should I take?
It depends entirely on you: If you want to reach a specific goal in a short time, then one hour per day makes sense (see question above).

If you want to get to the next level quickly, I recommend two to three hours a week. If you do not have so much time to learn, one hour per week is okay, but learning progress is slower.

Is there exam preparation?
I provide preparation for all common tests of the English and German languages, ensuring you are well-equipped to handle them.

Do I get homework?
If your schedule is already tight, I would advise against additional homework. You should focus on the assignments so that we can build upon them in the next lesson. Otherwise, your progress may be slow.

What is the European Framework of Reference (CEFR)?
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) helps to assess the level of language proficiency in different languages. It aims to promote transparency of language qualifications across Europe and helps learners and teachers to better classify and improve language skills. It has six levels:
Level Description

A1 Beginners: Can understand and use familiar, everyday expressions and simple sentences. Can introduce himself and others and answer simple questions about him or her
A2 Basic Knowledge: Can understand sentences and commonly used expressions related to relevant areas. Can communicate in simple, routine situations

B1 Advanced Language: Use Can understand the main points when using clear standard language. Can easily and coherently speak about familiar topics and personal areas of interest

B2 Independent Language: Use Can understand complex texts on concrete and abstract topics. Can communicate spontaneously and fluently so that a normal conversation with native speakers is possible

C1 Competent Language: Use Can follow longer speeches, even if they are not clearly structured. Can easily understand TV shows and movies

C2 Highly Competent Language: Use Understands spoken language without difficulty, whether live or in the media, and can get used to special accents

Do I get a certificate?
No, there is no official certificate, but confirmation of course attendance.

What teaching materials do you have?
I teach with my own script from various workbooks, grammar exercises, reading texts, and projects based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
I also use digital resources for interactive exercises and learning games, as well as multimedia content: Videos, radio plays, and podcasts.

If you want to buy a course book, I recommend Studio 21 from Cornelsen. The textbook promotes active language activity and offers extensive listening and pronunciation training and cultural content.

How long does it take to learn a language?
It depends on you! Factors include hours spent studying, time devoted to exercises, and practice frequency – especially if you're in the country. On average, reaching a level in German or English requires:

• 2 - 3 months with 5 hours per week
• 4 months with 3 hours per week
• 12 months with 1 hour per week

Where do they speak German?
German is one of the most widely spoken languages in the European Union and the official national language in Germany, Austria, and Liechtenstein. It is also one of the official national languages of Switzerland and Luxembourg.
Other German-speaking communities are spread throughout Europe, for example in the province of Bolzano in northern Italy, in the eastern part of Belgium, as well as in parts of Eastern Europe, North and South America.

What does a translation cost?
Translations and editing are calculated per word in the source language. The price depends on the volume and complexity of the text. Of course, we also deliver rush jobs on time but charge a surcharge.

How long does it take you to translate my document?
Of course, we deliver as quickly as possible, the exact date depends on the scope and the subject area. The reference value is ten pages per day. Contact us.

Why should I translate my website?
You only need twenty languages to reach 80% of all internet users worldwide. It is worth translating into the native language, because not everyone speaks English: Only 27% of all people do.

Why should I hire a translator when there is such good machine translation today?
True, machine translation is getting better and better. However, there are still many reasons why a professional translator is the better option:

Cultural Competence: People have a deeper understanding of cultural nuances, irony, humor, and other linguistic subtleties. A machine translation cannot "feel" what is said.

Expertise: A human translator can better understand the context of a text and adapt the translation accordingly. This is particularly important for specialist texts, where a great emphasis is placed on terminology, which only a person with appropriate training in the field can master. Machine translation quickly reaches its limits.

Industry Knowledge: 

A translator with industry knowledge can tailor the translation to the target audience.

Quality Assurance: 

Human translators can carefully review their work and correct errors and ensure consistency, which is particularly important for larger projects.

Creativity: 

A human translator can have an emotional impact on marketing texts. A machine does not know goosebumps.

Confidentiality: 

Sensitive data should not simply be translated with a machine. A human translator is bound to confidentiality.

When is a Human Translator particularly important?

Isn't a translator much more expensive?
Human translations are usually more expensive than machine translations but fixing poor machine translations can also be costly. The choice between human or machine translation depends on the content, audience, budget, and timeline. Often, a mix of both methods works best.

Just answer it for yourself: Would you write a letter to loved ones that AI created? There you go! Human subtleties are irreplaceable.
